Creating an award-winning yearbook is always easier when you have an entourage to back you up. How else can you have access to the best design software, binding options, and upgrades to help you create a book that is clean and consistent, with crisp images and graphics? Entourage Yearbooks, a yearbook company that is known for its quality products, explains how to bring your expertise of content, pages, color, covers, and bindings into your yearbook project.
Get Organized
Managing your book online is a great way to organize photos, keep track of deadlines, and stay in touch with your yearbook company. By creating categories for photos, you can involve as many yearbook committee members as you would like. Keep track of your progress by uploading your files to your own personal website. Add and arrange pages on your yearbook ladder. Preview an instant set of digital proofs. The best part is, you can create your yearbook in the design program of your choice: Adobe InDesign, custom yearbook software, and more.
Stumped on Ideas? Get Creative!
Contact your yearbook company to speak with a team of expert graphic designers and creative consultants. They are always up-to-date with the latest trends in yearbooks and are ready to be your resource for layouts, themes, and technical problems.
Design your Cover
Pick a cover style that fits your school. Decide whether you want a leatherette Classic cover or a customizable Signature cover. Do you prefer foil stamping and embossing, or your own photography and designs? Whatever you choose, know that you can pick a look for your yearbook that is as handsome as an encyclopedia, or as hip as a magazine.
Don’t Forget to Upgrade
If you’re still looking for more, it is a good idea to check out some yearbook upgrades. Think about adding foil stamps, printed end sheets, debossing, dust jackets, and other upgrades to your project. You can get all the traditional yearbook options (and more!) to help you to design on two scales: traditional and conservative; funky and contemporary. No matter the approach, these upgrades can add to your best yearbook cover yet.

Entourage Yearbooks announced the launch of their new “Yearbook Champion Program” to help schools that have never had a high school yearbook to finally afford one. The program is a subsidized yearbook program that allows schools to qualify for access to Entourage’s yearbook design software, training, and online tools. Qualified schools can then design their high school yearbook at no cost to the school.
Elias Jo, president of Entourage, described the program as follows: “We wanted to create a program that truly recognizes the people who really organize their school yearbooks, the ‘champions’. Time and again, we see students, staff and parents work tirelessly to get their yearbooks together and we just want to make it easier.” The Yearbook Champion Program offers qualified schools, a chance to design, market, and distribute their school yearbook at little to no cost to the school or to the person organizing the yearbook.
To qualify for the champion program, a school just needs to fill in a simple online application about the yearbook ‘champion’, the school, and what they’re trying to achieve with the yearbook. All schools accepted into the program are required to complete their school yearbook before the end of the school year. Upon completion of their high school yearbooks, champions receive 5 free printed yearbooks in addition to an online copy accessible to the entire school. This online yearbook will include a link so parents and students can purchase a hard copy of the book once they see how great it is.
Jan Sanders, a parent at PS111 in New York and current Entourage Yearbook Champion, describes the program, “We couldn’t have a yearbook without this program. I signed up and Entourage has helped us create a beautiful yearbook for the school at no cost! We’re almost done with the yearbook and I can’t wait to receive them.”
Entourage is able to provide the yearbook program for qualified schools by also offering the sale of the completed yearbook to others at the school. Yearbooks upon completion are available for sale to others at the school for costs as low as $12 for a softcover and $15 for a hardcover 48 page yearbook. The books are available to view for free by anyone at the school at Entourage’s website, http://www.EntourageYearbooks.com .

Many times customers of Entourage Yearbooks think that the company did such a great job with publishing their yearbook that they want more. When a yearbook publishing company does such a good job that people who originally didn’t care about the books start asking if they can order, it’s a good idea to have extra books on hand.
At the end of the year, schools often find themselves with spare yearbooks. Although it’s always better to have too many than too little, no yearbook committee wants to feel as though their budget was not utilized properly. Spare yearbooks can come in handy when schools least expect it, and they can also be worth a little bit of money.
A few extra yearbooks should always be reserved for the school library. This gives students access to the legacy left behind by previous alumni. Although a class reunion is still quite a few years off, rest assured there will be plenty of attendees who will get a kick out of seeing their old school yearbook, and if it is in good condition, a few sales will surely result. Schools with extra yearbooks may also want to take the opportunity to donate them to students who may not have been able to afford one in the first place.
Placing school yearbooks on eBay may sound impractical, but plenty of people who never had the chance to purchase one are likely to scan sites like eBay for the opportunity to get their hands on one.
And of course, there is always the opportunity to enter the yearbook publishing contest held annually by Entourage Yearbooks. The contest highlights the student artists and yearbook committees who help design their school’s yearbook and gives them the recognition they deserve.
