Add and arrange pages on your yearbook ladder. Preview an instant set of digital proofs. The best part is, you can create your yearbook in the design program of your choice: Adobe InDesign, custom yearbook software, and more.
Stumped on Ideas? Get Creative!
Contact your yearbook company to speak with a team of expert graphic designers and creative consultants. They are always up-to-date with the latest trends in yearbooks and are ready to be your resource for layouts, themes, and technical problems.
Design your Cover
Pick a cover style that fits your school. Decide whether you want a leatherette Classic cover or a customizable Signature cover. Do you prefer foil stamping and embossing, or your own photography and designs? Whatever you choose, know that you can pick a look for your yearbook that is as handsome as an encyclopedia, or as hip as a magazine.
Don’t Forget to Upgrade
If you’re still looking for more, it is a good idea to check out some yearbook upgrades. Think about adding foil stamps, printed end sheets, debossing, dust jackets, and other upgrades to your project. You can get all the traditional yearbook options (and more!) to help you to design on two scales: traditional and conservative; funky and contemporary. No matter the approach, these upgrades can add to your best yearbook cover yet.

Entourage Yearbooks, a yearbook publishing company, shares some of their clients’ past success stories for effectively funding yearbook projects. Some of the simplest ideas include penny drives, booster text and advertising pages for local and corporate businesses.
Funding a yearbook can become a great opportunity for schools to bring together the entire student body. One successful yearbook funding idea came in the form of pennies. A school experienced tremendous success when they launched their Penny Drive to fund their school yearbook project. Students from each class were asked to bring in spare change consisting of pennies only to put towards the yearbook. The class that collected the most money in pennies would win an extra page in the yearbook filled with their photos and capturing even more of their memorable year. Over $1,500 was raised, entirely from pennies, in a 3-4 week time period, which paid for the school’s yearbook.
Yearbook “Boosters” are another common form of raising money for Yearbooks. Boosters consist of 3-5 lines of personal text messages which family members can dedicate to students in the school. The “text messages”, so to speak, are sold by students to their friends and family. An average of 30-50 Boosters can fit on a page and typically cost anywhere from $3-$5.
According to Judy Jo, a senior account manager at Entourage Yearbooks, Boosters are particularly successful because they’re priced right. “Parents can sponsor commemorative messages for as little as $3.00 in the school’s yearbook. It’s a price that is right for most families regardless of their budgets.” Because of this, Booster Text is considered a quick and easy sell to help raise funds for yearbook projects.
Yet another form of fundraising dollars comes from local businesses in the community who wish to show their support by purchasing an advertisement in the school yearbook. Many local and even corporate businesses are dedicated to be involved and connect with their community; in many instances setting aside budgets for community donations. Many corporate businesses set aside these budget amounts each year for donations, so schools can take advantage by simply finding them and asking to be sponsored.
Other schools have had success through bake sales, book sales, lemonade stands and more. Jo also reminds students that yearbooks can also be sold at a profit, serving as its own fundraiser for other education programs.
Regardless of fundraising program put in place by schools for their yearbook, Entourage Yearbooks has dedicated services to help market those ideas with customized marketing materials to further enhance efforts. Posters, order forms, fliers and brochures can all be customized with school colors, logos and mascots. Jo, from Entourage Yearbooks, shares “It’s been a tough year for schools, especially in this economy, but we’ve seen a few small fundraising ideas go a long way to help make school yearbooks fun and more affordable.”

Yearbook printing technology is not only reducing turnaround times and creating more visually appealing products, but many yearbook publishing companies can use new technologies to save on costs for both the company and the client.
According to the production manager at Entourage Yearbooks, Edward Jo, “A door to door yearbook salesman model is inefficient. Internet online conferencing and remote desktop makes this position unnecessary. With a traveling yearbook rep, the school would have to call or email them for help, and then wait for them to drive out to the school. With the Entourage method, no matter where you are located, we can begin tech support help instantly as long as you have an internet connection.”
The Entourage Yearbooks business model is the preferred model since an estimated 20-30% of costs will be allocated to pay for the door to door sales rep. The Entourage model reduces costs with virtual technologies that allow for instant access within minutes. These savings are then passed down to the customer, making for more competitive pricing.
Entourage Yearbooks is doing what many businesses in America are doing today, using the Internet to streamline systems to be more productive. Jo added, “A yearbook sales rep who has a large territory may take several days before he or she can make a trip to a school that is requesting help. Time and money is wasted in these few days. We can help within minutes and keep production rolling for the fastest turnaround times in the industry.”
Entourage Yearbooks has also recently announced that they have made the leap to an entirely digital printing format. Digital print technology offers some of the highest quality imagery and resolution available in the industry today and the fastest turnaround times. With digital printing, customers can expect turnaround times to be as short as 2-3 weeks. Digital printing is also perfect for short runs, so schools aren’t forced to order additional books just to get a more competitive price.
